This memorial lecture commemorates the contribution to public health made by Delys Sargeant, AM, a health promotion activist. Join Dr Anne Unkenstein as she delivers the Delys Sargeant Memorial Lecture. We all experience fluctuations in our memory, especially as we get older. We live in a time of constant change. Life is busy and fast. There is more to do and see – and more to remember. The proportion of older people in our community is increasing, and there are more people living amongst us who have memory illnesses, such as dementia. How can we best nurture and support our collective memory abilities? Anne Unkenstein believes becoming memory-wise is the answer.

Anne Unkenstein, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist who has over 25 years’ experience in helping people with memory difficulties. Her recently published book, Memory-wise: How memory works and what to do when it doesn’t will be available to purchase on the day of the lecture.
